Piercarlo Foddis

It was walking the streets of Paris, with a dear friend, on a cool, damp evening, that she brought me to Piercarlo's studio. First peaking through the window, I could see dancing, shimmering, bright shapes and colours... 

Once inside, Piercarlo graciously agreed to show me around/through his work... 

I was struck especially by the brightness and clarity of the work. I found it rich and complex and yet evoking of simplicity. Abstract and yet beautifully clear in its impact - each work leaving a seal of something unable within me. 

Evoking of movement, evoking of joy. I was struck by his use of texture and quality of brush stroke to bring forth quality, life and motion. Looking at his work I could feel my mind clear, like the space between my thoughts was expanding. I could then more fully appreciate the detail and depth and see how each time certain pieces were seen, new frontiers would emerge. A sense of wonder, of the mystery and possibility of life gradually bubbling up within me more fully with each work - which, as I left the studio, I carried gratefully with me into the night and my days ahead.
